Terms of Use (EULA)

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Trove Notes application ("the App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. License

You are granted a non-transferable license to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and the standard Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Apple Standard EULA), which is incorporated by reference.

2. No password recovery

Important: Your encryption password is never stored and cannot be recovered. If you forget the password for a note, that note is permanently unreadable. There is no backdoor, hint, or reset. You are solely responsible for remembering your passwords.

3. Subscriptions

The App offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions to unlock premium features (unlimited notes, sharing, importing, and more):

Weekly and Monthly plans, each with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers.
Prices are shown in the App in your local currency before purchase.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
The subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
The free trial converts to a paid subscription at the price shown unless cancelled before it ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings after purchase.

4. Free tier

Without a subscription, the App allows creating a limited number of notes. This limit may change over time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose or to store content that violates applicable law. You are responsible for the content you create and store.

6. Disclaimer of warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. While the App uses strong, industry-standard encryption, we do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups where appropriate.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, including notes rendered unreadable due to a forgotten password.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
